Otis-Bison Students Place in the VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Essay Contest

Ms. Sennett’s 8th through 12th grade English classes participated in the VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Essay Contests this fall. Initially, every student wrote an essay in the school-wide essay contest. With the help of Mrs. Hagans, as an additional judge, two students from each class were chosen as winners of the contest. Next, Ms. Sennett selected the top essay from each class to be submitted to the 2016 VFW Essay Contest. The top essays were written by Caitlin Schilowsky, Blake Bahr, Kaylin Knaple, Ashtyn Butler, and Jayce Kohls and submitted to the judging committee. As a result, the following students placed in the VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Essay Contests: Caitlin Schilowsky, 3rd place; Ashtyn Butler, 2nd place; and Jayce Kohls, 3rd place. Congratulations on a job well-done and way to represent Otis-Bison!
