2017 1A KSHSAA State Forensics and Festival

On May 6th, qualifying Forensics students and Coach Hagans competed at State Championships and performed at the State Festival.

Competing at State were Kade Urban and Maitland Wiltse in Improvised Duet Acting, Alix Schneider and Sidney Schneider in Duet Acting, and Leah Collins in Serious Solo. Unfortunately no one made it to the Semi-Finals, but making it to State was an accomplishment in itself and you can bet some of them will be back next year.

At State Festival students do not compete against each other but perform for a personal ranking with I being best. Performing at State Festival were Maddie Wiltse and Cora Anderson in IDA, Ashtyn Butler in Prose Interpretation, Cayla Steinert in Prose Interpretation, Amanda Sizemore in Serious Solo, and Maddie Wiltse in Informative. Ashtyn, Maddie, and Cayla all received the top ranking of I for their performance. Amanda received a II as well as the performance by Cora and Maddie.

A special thanks to Tonya Andrews for coming along with the students and assisting as a Judge at the championships.

This ends the Forensics season and we are already looking forward to next year!
