On Friday, April 28th, the junior high robotics students, coached by Ms. Strommenger, went to Fort Hays State University to compete in the Western Kansas Lego Robotics Competition.
In the morning their robots were used in events such as Line Follower, Sorting Colors, Slalom, and Clear the Field.
The final event of the day was the Sumo Bots competition. Each team's robot goes head to head against another team's and tries to knock them out of the circle. All of our teams were eliminated in the first round of Sumo Bots. Although they were defeated, they learned some important lessons that will improve their performance next year.
It was a good time!
