OBHS students attend American Legion Girls and Boys State

On May 31st -June 6th American Legion Auxiliary Sunflower Girls State was held in Lawrence, KS and American Legion Kansas Boys State was held in Manhattan, KS. Both Girls State and Boys State events are dedicated to educating young men and women of Kansas on the inner-workings of government and allow them to learn leadership skills through role play civic exercises. Travis Ross was elected to mayor of his city at Boys State. Marissa Pechanec became a lawyer and then appointed Mayor of her city at Girls State. Marissa and Travis are both upcoming seniors at Otis-Bison High School and were sponsored by the Otis Lions Club to attend Girls and Boys State.
