Cougars and Lady Cougars Matches

Last week the Otis-Bison HS Cougars Football team played their first game at home vs the Ellinwood Eagles. The game started off great with an early fumble recovered by Maitland Wiltse which led to a touchdown in the next play. Following that, everything seemed to click and the final score at Half-Time was 56-0.

The Lady Cougars participated in the annual Otis-Bison/La Crosse Volleyball Invitational on Saturday and saw great success, making it all the way to the finals. First playing La Crosse in the Semi-final, they fell in their first set. Not ready to call it quits they came back to win the 2nd and defeated La Crosse in the 3rd Set. They then faced off against Plainville in the finals. Again they fell in the first set trailing by just 8 points, but this didn't get them down. They made a vicious come back and won the 2nd set against Plainville, this time up by 8 points. It seems they'd met their match. The 3rd Set was an exciting one with both teams trading the lead multiple times. Unfortunately Plainville pulled ahead at the very end and won by the regulation 2 points with the final set ending 23-25. The Lady Cougars ended the day taking 2nd Place, an improvement over last year when they were defeated in the semi-finals.
